Thx Elton! If I may, it would be possible to include the sound of footsteps when climbing stairs, like in the arcade (tap tap tap)? Or at least a congratulation music when you succed in one level. Now it sounds too silent, just my opinion. By the way, greeeeeeat conversion!!

If I do a 128k version I'll add more tunes.. I can't fit a lot more in with the 48k footprint it uses now!

It doesn't work on Marvin emulator- loads up fine but as soon as the game starts the sprite freezes and he is unable to be moved whilst the music plays and the background scrolls independently. I suspect it is the same issue that causes a similar behaviour when the game is loaded on a Timex TC2048. I hope Elton will look into it when he has the opportunity.

I don't have any Android devices to try that emulator, and not sure I could debug it if I could.. I guess it's some timing issue with how that emulator updates the screen or handles the floating bus.. It's possible the +2a/+3 version will work better if it's the latter, but I've not got round to doing that yet!

Hi eltonbird,
apart from my congratulations for such a great port of the historical Irem game after the weak 1986 official conversion, I would like to ask you if the +2A/+3 version will be released.
Thanks!

Sorry, I've been a bit busy with my main work and family stuff, and I've not got around to the +2a fix yet. I hope to very soon.
In other news, I did some work on a Z80 emulator a while back, and am going to release a version of the game for iOS and Android using it.
It's not a full 100% accurate Spectrum emulator, just emulated processor and a custom display for the Speccy's video memory area, and it will be running the original z80 game code slightly modified.. so it will eliminates any sprite flicker or game slow downs, and have slightly enhanced sound effects. Music will be full AY emulation though. This will be a great way for people to play the game on the go, and also provide a way for people to send a little donation to me for my hard work! (and to support me being able to make future games too!) I'll have more news when I'm a bit nearer releasing it!

Hi Elton, tried to play in Spectaculator with +2, +2a and +3 roms and it's not working still...sorry. Thanks! As far as I know, Spectaculator doesn't handle the +3 floating bus behaviour correctly. There's another emulator called Spectramine that does, and the plus3 version has been tested on that and works. I really need someone to test it on real hardware to be sure though!

The archive on the website link has been updated again.. just a small bug fix for the Knife throwers occasionally getting stuck in a throw animation after being hit.

It was tested in a real +2A and worked! Congrats and thanks for the fix, as we are many the owners of the +2A models 🙂

Ok then, I will try with RVM, also in my zxuno as soon as I can, good job Elton!

Yep, that's the official Android version. It's not quite finished yet, but it can be bought as a Beta I think. The On screen controller size isn't right on some devices and saving of options/high scores is not done yet. Also lacking controller support at the oment, but hopefully won't be long!

Oh thank goodness - I thought it may have been without permission, which would be unfair. I'll be getting this then very soon!

And a cassette tape version for the shelf for the Spectrum ? Yes, I'll try and get that sorted very soon! Sadly work and life is keeping me away from my Speccy stuff at the moment!

In the unlikely event anyone owns an Apple TV, you can now get my Emulated version of Mr KF for that too!

Did the best I could to make it playable (you are holding the remote sideways I hope?) that took a lot of trial and error on tuning the Touch pad sensitivity. Thanks for getting it!

I'll try to play it this week using my Nimbus steelseries Mfi controller, because, yes, using the remote (specially in 60Hz) is a nightmare. Back to topic: a 128k version with intro/ending scenes (girlfriend being taken/freed), extra sounds (the mobile version music, sound fx for steps, speech on flying kicks?), difficulty levels, ... and my personal favourite: the hands holding the letter in the beginning, could be a dream... Good job, man!!
